Love and Take Care of Yourself
Everyday of our lives, we are working so hard for our families, to be successful in our career, to achieve our dreams and to be able to influence others with our skills, talents, and intelligence. We are so busy with a lot of things that we miss checking our timetable, giving time for ourselves to rest, relax or even see a doctor, most especially if we are in pain. Mothers are busy taking care of their children, preparing meals, doing household chores and attending their kid’s school events, and fathers stay up late at night and wake up early to go to work for the family. And mind you, even single young adults can’t find time to exercise, because they are also busy with work or socializing, and prefer eating in a fast food, restaurant or in their apartment with easy-to-prepare but not nutritious meals.
It is no wonder why obesity is on the rise, with junk food and processed food, such as pizza, chips, chocolates, soda, burger, and so on and so forth. We don’t realize the importance of our bodies, but we have to be enlightened and be serious about loving and taking care our bodies, because it is our only vessel to enjoy life to the fullest, with our families and friends. You can start by selecting fresh fruits, vegetables and whole food, instead of refined and processed food. It is more convenient grabbing fresh bananas and stirring a glass of milk, than having a drive through fast food early in the morning, same with putting a nutritious frozen homemade burritos in your microwave, than the unhealthy mac and cheese. The the rule is the less processed the food is the higher is its nutritional value, and the lower the calories, bad cholesterol and preservatives, such as whole grains, oatmeals, and cereals, honey, brown or muscovado sugar than white sugar, and brown rice than white rice.
It is really hard setting a time for exercise, but you need to do it to burn calories and increase your body endurance and strength, so setting an alarm to your smartphone every day for your thirty minutes per day exercise will really help. Once you’re used to it, it becomes your hobby and then a daily routine, or as a normal part of your everyday activities, and you will surely notice a big improvement not only physically but also psychologically. The human body is created to move, but prolonged sitting in front of your computer or all the paperwork give a signal to our bodies about shutting down, so it is important to exercise like using the staircase instead of the elevator, walking instead of driving nearby friend’s house or grocery store, and take some time running, swimming or playing your favorite sport on your day off.
